The beauty and the history.

“They that go down to the ships, that do business on the mighty waters. They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.” Psalm 107 23-24.

I live half an hour away from the beach, maybe a little more with Charleston traffic. Yet I only get there a couple of times a year. We don't have to worry about parking because there is Ft. Moultrie and its free spaces next to the cannons, but we just don't make the time. My husband doesn't like the grit of the sand, we're too busy.

So, of course, the lesson is we make the time for what we feel is important. Whether we do so purposefully, or not, where we put our time, there, too is our treasure. So, for those of you for whom going to the beach is out of the question--too far, not enough money--thanks for reminding me, I need to find the time. We all need to sink our toes in the tide, bookmark the bible verse, and talk to our best friend. Find the time. Maybe get off the internet a little (um...)
