Dear Readers,

Please join me in welcoming a member of my local writing chapter. This is unusual for me because I don't usually feature children's books, but these are lovely! Maybe you have children or grandchildren?

Introduce yourself?

I’m Jennifer E. Tirrell, or JET. My mother gave me initials that spelled a word because it was supposed to be lucky. It turns out I am lucky—and blessed. People generally notice my hair now that I have received my “crown” of the aged. I’m happy to have it, and pray I also have received a measure of wisdom to go with it.

Tell us about your books?

Apple Butter Adventure is Book One of the Pets to the Rescue, A Cousin Crew series. Four preteen cousins take their first steps toward becoming the kind of young men and women who can be trusted—brave, responsible, and ready to help. This mystery series includes vocabulary crafter for young readers, lessons on prayer, family values, love of nature, and of our great country.

Did you have any challenges in writing this book?

The challenge in writing these books revolved mainly around the publishing journey. Careful and prayerful thought went into how and when to publish.

Let's get to know you and the readers a bit more...

What was one of your favorite things to do outside as a child? Did you ever sense God there – in the trees, the wind, the wide-open sky?

Your book sounds wonderful for this age group. When we were kids all the cousins visited our grandparent's lake house for vacations and we're taught that all the surrounding beauty was of God's making. Learning these things so young was wonderful to me.

I have cerebral palsy so as a child I enjoyed reading outside as I could not walk.

I think this series will rival the Dick and Jane series I loved as a child!

As a child I enjoyed climbing trees, riding my bike, and pretending I was a cowgirl! My children are grown and I have grandchildren that are young adults. If gifted with these books they sound ideal to donate to my church for the 4-11 year old Sunday School group or even for use in the Learning Center. They sound wonderful and inspiring.
