Last year, I posted a Cowboy story with ribs recipes, baked beans, and corn on the cob. Now, I'm sharing one of my favorites--smoked chicken with an unusual sauce that makes the healthy yummy!
Smoked Chicken with Homemade Barbecue Sauce...use your favorite recipe to cook a whole chicken or simply use chicken breasts and cook on the grill (ps. the picture doesn't look like much, but it is tasty).
Daddy's Barbecue Sauce (not my Daddy, the original recipe owner's)

Ingredients:
1 stick butter or margarine
1/3 cup water
2 teaspoons flour
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Directions:
Melt butter in small saucepan.
Stir in remaining ingredients and beat until well blended.
Warm until thickened.
Makes enough sauce to barbecue four chicken breasts on the grill or a whole chicken as desired.
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!
Note: This recipe comes from the Lynchburg Junior League Cookbook. :)
