Dear Readers, Happy Wednesday! This past Sunday at church, we had a potluck as sort of an enticement/bribe/reward for attending the voter's meeting. Of course, I made cake and it was delicious. Enjoy!
Candy Bar Pound Cake
Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened to room temperature
4 eggs
11 ounces chocolate syrup
10.15 ounces milk chocolate bars, melted (the original recipe if for a certain well-known brand, but I don't have permission to use their name:)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Powdered sugar
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter; add eggs 1 at a time, beating well.
Add syrup and melted candy bars.
In a separate bowl, add salt to flour.
In yet another bowl (or measuring cup), stir soda into buttermilk. Add to chocolate mixture alternately with flour, beginning and ending with flour.
Add vanilla extract and pour into greased tube pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing from pan.
Let cake cool completely. Sift powdered sugar over cooled cake.
Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
