Dear Readers,
I hope you are doing well and that you are getting to experience this same beautiful autumn weather. The sun is shining here in South Carolina and the temperatures are perfection. I got to enjoy
Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

Hi! My name is Aubrey. I have a few books published under the name Aubrey Taylor, but this year I began using the pen name Aubrey Reiss Taylor. It connects me to the Historical German Fiction I write, and also distinguishes me from another author named Aubrey Taylor!
I live in Upstate, NY, about 6 hours from NYC, near Lake Ontario. I have to be honest, I don’t know what people notice when they meet me, unless I’ve just come from a German music or dance performance, in which case I’m wearing a Dirndl. That obviously makes me stand out, but I got over walking into the grocery store or coffee shop in a Dirndl pretty quickly!
Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.
Today I want to share about my October 1st release, Born for Adversity. Here is the blurb:
A child grows in Lani’s womb, a constant reminder of the young man she loves and will never have. The handsome François Durant fancies her, and would give her a safe and comfortable life–if only she’ll have ‘it’ taken care of. Instead, Lani seeks solace with her family in Bavaria. There, she will not only face the decision whether to keep the child or give him up for adoption, she will also be challenged to overcome the desire for a man’s love–a challenge made more difficult by the kind young farmer down the road.

It is part of a novella collection published by Brave Authors, entitled Every Life Treasured. The collection also features novellas from Jennifer Q. Hunt and Hannah Hood Lucero, so you’re definitely going to want to check it out!
Share one thing that you found difficult or challenging about writing this book.
I think I fell short on the romance aspect of the book. One of my ELT collaborators, Hannah Hood Lucero, was hoping for a lot more, but I had to weave the story into the other books I’m working on. In the end, I left room for a possible love story between two characters in the future. What’s funny is that my editor actually asked me to tone down the romantic feelings my FMC was having for “the kind young farmer down the road.” So who knows what might happen?
Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?
Question: Most of my books feature conversations over baked goods and hot beverages. I’d love to know if you are a tea drinker or a coffee drinker. Or, if you prefer a third option, let me know!
My Answer: I drink both coffee and tea. I also love a cup of hot chocolate in the winter, but I am a total snob and will ONLY drink hot cocoa if it’s made with milk.

I love coffee, with heavy whipping cream and sweetener and some mint or caramel extract. Sadly my body no longer allows me to drink that. So my go to in tea with my breakfast. Either elderberry with vit c and I add raw honey, or Wild Blueberry and Acai.
Unfortunately, I'm not a coffee or hot tea drinker. I do enjoy hot chocolate in the winter! Thanks for the chance to win Aubrey's book. It sounds great!
I drink three cups of decaffeinated green tea every day.
Thank you again for allowing me to share, Christina!
It sounds like an interesting read.
