Dear Readers,
I hope you are safe and warm, and enjoying some down time with all the cold weather. We had a fire in our fireplace two nights in a row!
Please join me in welcoming a return guest--thank you, Barbara, for being here!
Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice about you.

Thank you for hosting me again on your blog, Christina.
My name is Barbara M. Britton, and I live in Wisconsin in a suburb of Milwaukee. Snow is falling while I write this post. Fall and summer are my favorite seasons in Wisconsin.
People notice my hair. I curl it with an iron and spray it until it doesn’t move (Think 70s hairstyle). I have more comments on my hair than anything else. Of course, most of my compliments come from women who are older than me. I would love to grow my hair long, but it likes to stop at my shoulders.
Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.

“Across the Lake” combines my Biblical Fiction writing with an author reflection from my trip to Israel, and a short Bible study. I focus on six accounts in the Gospel of Mark.
Discover the life-changing power of Jesus in six short stories from the Gospel of Mark. The miracles of Jesus will leap from the page in a Biblical Fiction story, author reflection, and relatable study.
Travel with Jesus as he calms a storm, heals a desperate woman, raises a dead daughter to life, sends His disciples on a minimalist mission, feeds thousands on a hillside, and shows compassion to a persistent mother.
A perfect study for your small group, personal or family devotions, or book club.
If you know Jesus, fall in love with Him all over again. If you haven’t experienced Jesus’ power and love, jump in His boat and engage with the Creator and Savior of the world.
You can purchase “Across the Lake” on Amazon or other booksellers.
What was one thing you found challenging about writing this book?
I had never written short stories before. It was fun but challenging to get the emotion into the story.
Writing about Jesus was new for me. I’ve written Old Testament stories until now. I made sure that Jesus only says the red letters from the Bible. Limiting what Jesus says and thinks meant I relied on the other people in the story to show how amazing Jesus is.
In the author reflections, I shared some of my own life experiences if they pertained to the storyline.

Do you have any questions for my blog readers?
Have you ever been to Israel? What would you like to see if you could take a trip there?
(The picture above is of the Sea of Gallilee--thanks, Barbara!).
Quirky question:
Wisconsites love our fried cheese curds. Have you tried a fired cheese curd? Cheddar or mozzarella?
