Dear Readers,

Sometimes, an author writes a story you wish you'd written. I love the concept for this book--what an exercise in focusing on what is pure and noble (one of my favorite verses). At the same time, we humans are imperfect no matter where we are--so what a great exercise in thinking, "what if?"

Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

Hi, I’m Chuck Richardson. I was born and raised in Rome, New York, a small city in upstate New York. Rome is  in the middle of the state about 40 miles east of Syracuse. I now live with my wife, Ruby, in Louisville, KY.

When people meet me for the first time they are sometimes surprised by my height. I’m 6’1” with a slim build which may make me seem taller.

Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.

This book grew from the thought of what the world would be like if Adam and Eve had not sinned.

Back Cover Blurb:

Paradise Unfallen is the epic story of Erimea, Earth’s twin. The first parents of Erimea, Solis and Livi, begin life identical to Adam and Eve, but this first Erimean couple resists the serpent’s temptation.

Solis and Livi must fulfill God’s commands to fill the planet, subdue it, and rule over creation.

They live in fellowship with God and the relentless opposition of Satan.

Solis and Livi populate four regions of Erimea during their first 250 years and return home to the Garden of Chara to save their descendants from plunging into Earth-like conflict and sin. It is a time of testing for all Erimeans when God is silent and questions grow. Should a life-giving resource be freely shared as the population explodes? Can the needy justify taking what they require by force? Can wisdom be found in worshiping other gods? Amid physical and spiritual challenges Solis and Livi travel the difficult path from innocence to holiness and learn what it means to be like God.

Share one thing that you found difficult or challenging about writing this book?

I wrote Paradise Unfallen in third person limited point of view (POV). There should be just one point of view character for each scene. This was tricky because I have a bunch of characters and the POV changes from scene to scene. I had to work hard at only including descriptions and information the POV character for that scene would know or notice.

Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?

What is your best or worst Valentine’s Day memory?

I have two best Valentine’s Day memories and they’re related: February 13, 1986, and February 10, 1987.

In 1986, I was leading a Singles Ministry meeting at the Newburg Church of Christ in Louisville, KY and in walked a beautiful young lady named Ruby. I had never met Ruby before, but she got my attention. The next February, I proposed to Ruby, and we were married in July 1987!

Chuck, the premise of your book is very intriguing! The idea of Adam and Eve discussing and having responsibility for leadership during a period of silence from God certainly would be challenging and require complete obedience and devotion to His Word. Looking forward to reading your book. - Jennifer E. Tirrell
