Guest Blog: DeAnna Sanders with Unseen People PRIZE 2 Free Books

Dear Readers,

I hope you are doing great! I'm traveling through Virginia right now, visiting family, and did not have access to wifi the last few days--good to disconnect, but not so good with keeping up with the blog! So, I apologize this is so late in the day, and wish you many great times with your own loved ones!

Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you?

Hi! I’m excited to chat with you today. I’m DeAnna Sanders from Duncan, Oklahoma in the southwestern part of the state. When you meet me, you may notice my smiley eyes. My eyes disappear when I smile! You may also notice a hint of a southern drawl since I am originally from southern Arkansas.

Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb?

My book, Unseen People: Sharing Light and Life With Your Neighbors and the Nations releases August 8th.

How can you “see the unseen”?

God calls us all to live a life of purpose—to live prepared to be on mission and go where He needs us, both locally and globally, but many of us don’t even want to get off the couch.

DeAnna Sanders is an introvert who heard God’s call and followed Him to unknown places despite her fears and misgivings. And what she found there will open your eyes to the needs of the many and hearts of the unseen.

Through life-shaping stories, DeAnna’s book Unseen People offers encouragement AND inspiration and prepares our hearts when it’s time to go. Sometimes the hard places He guides us to are next door, and sometimes, He calls us to help the oppressed in restricted nations. No matter where He leads, the call is the same—to see and serve people and to hear and share their stories. Their stories will shape you, change you, and challenge you to keep going. You will be different.

Let Unseen People stir your heart and call you to take action—to see, listen to God’s call for you, get prepared, and go.

Share one thing that you found difficult or challenging about writing this book?

I have met a lot of amazing people, circled the globe several times and gathered so many life-changing stories. It was difficult for me to decide what stories to include and which to leave out. I also wanted to tell stories on what shaped me into a person who wanted to go and follow Jesus into the unknown. I was also challenged to see people locally and not just globally and tell those stories too.

Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?

My heart’s desire and the calling God put on my heart was to go to faraway places. But He also called me to reach people next door. Which do you prefer? To meet people nearby or locally? Would you rather get on a plane and walk across the street and ring your neighbor’s doorbell? If you would rather travel, where do you think God would call you to go?

Also, in the book, I talk about my favorite holiday. What’s yours? I love Thanksgiving because it’s all about good food and gathered family. Nothing to buy. No pressure. Just a good time.

I'd rather share locally, although I've always to go on a missions trip in the Caribbean or Central America. (I love the tropics.) Being a missionary living in a foreign country scares me. My favorite holiday is Easter. Beautiful resurrection message, family gatherings, warm weather, spring flowers, and my favorite colors.

I would like to share with my neighbors the love of the Lord. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. We always had Thanksgiving at our house. The house was filled with my aunts, uncles and cousins. It was a fabulous day. Thank you for sharing. God bless you. Stay cool and have a wonderful week.
