Dear Readers, this blog is on schedule! I have finished grading all but one class and am already feeling the weight on my shoulders to be a little lighter. I hope all of you are doing well--and enjoying some much needed rain as we are. Blessings, Christina

Thank you, as always, for welcoming our guest. What a cover, right?

Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

My name is Kristy Werner. Besides a ten-month trek to Texas, I was born, raised, and still live in Oklahoma—and I wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else. This state is more than just my home; it’s my heart. I would have to say what people notice about me when we first meet is my friendly and welcoming demeanor. My husband told me to say that. Isn’t he sweet?

Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb?

To Touch the Earth is the first book in my Hearts of Osage County saga, which is a series of cowboy romances about coming home or finding home. They’re all set in Osage County, Oklahoma, where my dad’s family is from. Book four releases May 18. These are not stand-alone stories, so the books should be read in order for your ultimate reading pleasure.

Blurb:

In Osage County, the land may last forever. But love does not.

Life on the Double H Ranch was perfect until tragedy struck. Broken by her momma’s death and her daddy’s withdrawal, teenage Hannah Harris flees all she loves—her roots, her hometown, her conscience, and her cowboy. Eight years later, she returns to attend her father’s funeral, gather her things, and get out of town. But there’s a snag—the high school sweetheart she abandoned appears too comfortable with her best friend. And Hannah now owns the ranch. Since graduation night, Aaron Dean has waited for the girl who left her brand on his heart and his ring in his pocket. The ring’s the same, his heart’s the same, but is the woman who returns his same Hannah? What will it take to make her lost soul touch the earth again?

The longer Hannah stays at the Double H Ranch, the more memories root her to the earth, to generations past, and to dreams forsaken. And the more she believes love can last… forever.

“A little too early to be feedin’, ain’t it?” Aaron stepped up onto the wood-plank floor behind her.

“I just needed to call them up so I could catch Shady.”

“Going for a ride?”

“I thought I might.”

“I thought you’d be leaving by now.”

When she set the feed bucket on the bin, it hit harder than she intended. But it was a nice effect. Hand on her hip, she flung her hair over her shoulder as she swung around. “Do you want me to leave?”

His blue eyes darkened, and a muscle twitched in his jaw. “You’ve already made it clear what I want doesn’t matter.”

Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?

When you were growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be everything! An actress, a singer, a marine biologist, an Egyptologist, a physician’s assistant. But my love of stories led me to being an author. It took until I was fifty, but here I am.

Hi Kristy, you are a new author to me. I was born, raised, and still living in Ohio minus a few years in a few other states. I wanted to be a dancer, nurse, police woman and a variety of other careers, but I retired as a Docket Supervisor in a law firm. Your book sounds good!

Thank you, Cyndi! You sound like me. My fancy seemed to change with the wind. When I was writing Restoration, I considered going to nursing school because I had so much fun writing Ashley's character. Goodness!

I’m Carolyn West from Carrollton Kentucky. After living in Indiana for most of my life we retired and built a home here.

I hope most people know I’m friendly and love to talk when they first meet me. Nice to be here. The book sounds great.
