Dear readers, thank you for joining me in welcoming Sherry--a fellow Virginian (I grew up in the mountains of Virginia but now live in South Carolina), at least for a little while!
Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

My name is Sherry Shindelar. I’m originally from Tennessee, and I lived in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia for several years, but northern Minnesota is my home now. When people first meet me and hear me speak, most notice a trace of a Southern accent that clues them in that I’m not a native Minnesotan.
Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb?
I’m super-excited about my new release: Texas Divided, Book #2 in my Lone Star Redemption series:
He thought he was rescuing her from the Comanche. Now the Civil War soldier must prove he isn't the villain she thinks he is.
Driven by the looming expectation of becoming a suffocatingly proper lady, Morning Fawn is determined to escape the confines of her uncle’s plantation and return to her adoptive Comanche tribe. But with each failed attempt, her hopes dwindle, and she wonders if she'll ever find her way back home or if that world is forever lost to her.
Devon Reynolds, disillusioned by the price of affluence and the horrors of war, leaves his privileged life to join the Texas Rangers and later the cavalry. In the military service, he finds purpose . . . until he loses his wife during childbirth while he is away. In an attempt to redeem himself, he takes one last fateful mission to rescue Morning Fawn from the Comanche. But the results force him to question the righteousness of his actions and the cause he serves.

When Devon returns to Texas as a Yankee spy, his path crosses with Morning Fawn once more. Determined to save her from the prison of her uncle's house and to recover Texas from the Confederacy, Devon is drawn to her fierce spirit and unwavering resolve. But can two wounded souls, each fighting their own battles, find solace and love amidst the chaos of war?
Share one thing that you found difficult or challenging about writing this book.
I believe the hardest scene(s) was the ending of Texas Divided. I struggled with writing this book because it was the first time I was writing a story under a deadline. Plus, Texas Forsaken was so well received that I stressed about whether my next book would live up to its high standard. The inspiration wasn’t coming, and the characters weren’t behaving. I came to the end of myself. I realized I couldn’t do it on my own. But God could. Instead of stressing, I needed to trust Him to see me through the pathway of the story. And He did! I didn’t know the end of the story until three weeks before I turned the manuscript over to my editor, but once the ending came, I knew it was perfect for the story.

What is your favorite movie made from a book you read?
Mine would have to be Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I really liked the book, but I loved the movie! I love Michael, and my heart went to Angel.

I would have to say Little Women as there are many variations between the books and movies. This book sounds like an interesting read that I would enjoy!
Hi ladies! I grew up in MI, but have spent all of my adult life in SC. I love historical fiction, and would enjoy the first book in the series I'm sure.
I honestly cannot think of any books turned into movies that I love off the top of my head. I’ve not read or watched Redeeming Love- perhaps I’ll need to add that to my next read while I wait for the next book of this series! ;)
Both of these books sound very interesting, and I love historical romance, especially those stories set in the West.
The book sounds wonderful alysap at yahoo dot com
