Dear Readers, I hope you've had a wonderful start to your new year. I've experienced the loss of a family member and am struggling with my mother being in a difficult housing situation. I'd appreciate prayers.

Now, let's focus on the joy and beauty of God's love. So grateful for faith!

Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

Hi everyone, my name is Ashley. I was born on the island of Nassau, Bahamas, but I spent most of my life in a beautiful coastal town in California. Many people notice my wide smile (from my dad’s side) and the amber color of my eyes (from my mom’s side).

Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.

Book Title: Visions of Celestial Love (An Invitation into Healing Intimacy with God)

Back Blurb:

"Come, all you are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare." - Isaiah 55:1-2 NIV Are you ready to taste the sweet delicacies of God in a deeply reviving and personal way? For those who want to drink, for those who want to eat and be refreshed and renewed, Visions of Celestial Love is a feast between you and the King of Heaven, who loves you more than anyone else. He invites you to dine on wholesome, good, savory food and delicious, zesty, fruitful drink. He awaits you with a sparkle in His eye. He is ready for your company. He delights to have you as a guest. "Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill of love." - Song of Songs 5:1 NIV

"Ashley presents us with a true cornucopia of modern psalms, personal testimonies, and short stories. She has set out to reveal and unravel some of the most complex heart issues mankind faces in our quest of understanding what true intimacy with God really looks like. Prepare to have your soul massaged and worked on as you read Visions of Celestial Love." — Jeremy Minard, Servant King Apparel

ree

I wrote Visions of Celestial Love for the same reason I imagine David wrote the Psalms. I love David’s heart for God, and I admire how he bore his soul before Him like oil from a soul adorned with worship. His love for God was fluid, messy, real, human, and heavenly.

David, like all men, experienced everything from elated joy to deep sorrow as he walked through life. Eventually, he always brought his emotional struggles from life’s circumstances to God, in quiet time with Him. God called David, “a man after my own heart.”

God created each of us for intimacy with Him, where we can feed on His goodness. Jesus was an example of the life God wants to have with each of us. Long leisure nights on a mountain in communion with Him. This life with Him looks like family.

Every need that we have was meant to be fulfilled in and through Him. God intends for our relationship with Him to ravish our hearts.

In this book, you won’t find perfect theology or a list of dos and don’ts. I don’t promise you’ll have a religious revelation. But, in this book, you will find love sonnets of praise that express intimate encounters with the Lord. I want to share with you the meat of my soul that has communicated with Him.

I also wrote this book as an emotional outlet… in times of peace… in times of grief… in moments of questioning life circumstances… and in moments of celebration. Visions started as a journal where I would write during my devotional times with God.  During those sacred times, the Lord’s love would soothe my heart and canopy my soul.

I pray you feel the healing rain of his presence as you read. And may your own heart sit at the table of his presence and be filled with his undying love.

Daddy (A Poem to Abba Father)

Daddy, how I love your Presence, your touch, your voice.

How I love intimacy with you…quiet moments in the morning where it is just you and me.

Where your breath falls on me and moves tendrils of my hair.

Where your sweet love, like sugary water, washes over my soul in warm, gentle lapping waves.

How I love the way You love me.

Your perfect way of looking at things. Your positive disposition.

Your calm, refreshing, and rejuvenating peace brings wholeness and wellness to my soul.

Relationship with you is all that matters.

Your Presence is so sweet I could weep.

You are so beautiful to me.

Brighter than the sun to my eyes.

It is so simple.

Life with You is so simply sweet yet gloriously abundant and bursting with the joy of your giving.

I love you, Daddy.

And I drink in your love this morning.

I take in your grace.

I bathe in your favor and mercy.

I eat of your life-giving words.

I melt in your Spirit.

I rest in your arms and listen comfortably to your heartbeat.

I sing in your Presence.

What could be more important than you?

The meaning of my life is You. Daddy, you are so good to me!

Ask the blog reader a quirky question or two?

Quirky question 1: What is the sweetest thing your spouse or a friend ever blessed you with?

*For one of our anniversaries, my husband surprised me with a weekend getaway. He visited Hearts Castle and spent our days near a quaint beach town. Before our trip, he purchased an exotic ring for me featuring ocean water and kelp from Italy (he understands my love for the sea). He even planned the places where we would eat. I was overwhelmed by his calculated thoughtfulness.

Quirky question 2: What is something that you’ve achieved that you are proud of?

*For me, teaching worship dance and Bible class to students at a private Christian school is one of the things that I really feel like God used me in. Some of my students have gone on to do dance ministry in churches, and others have shared their testimonies from Bible class with groups in their communities. One of my students was adopted and came from a challenging background. As she experienced God’s love for her and her identity in Christ, she received emotional healing. To this day, her story continues to move me deeply.

Oops, I meant to answer the first question. My friend gave me the most beautiful, handmade journal for Christmas. Even the paper is handmade! I love to write longhand, and I'm filling up this journal!

Ashley, your book sounds interesting. So does teaching worship dance. I've actually never been a member of a church with worship dance, but I think it'd add joy to the service.

Happy New Year. Thank you so much for sharing. My husband has blessed me with being my full time caregiver. He does not complain with caring for me or helping with whatever I may need. He is such a blessing. God bless you.
