Happy Easter!

We are an Easter people...living in the time after Christ's resurrection. We are so blessed to have the reassurance that there is more than this, that there is a wonderful life after death.

Many of the people I know who are believers struggle with what heaven is like. What will we do there? We identify with Martha and wonder what in the world we will do with ourselves--will there be clubs, jobs, will be bored? Wearing white robes and singing all day doesn't sound like our idea of fun.

My answer has only come recently. The more I read, the more I live in the Word, the more I understand--definitely a perk of getting older.

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Would a God who created this beautiful creation we now experience with wonder plan a boring eternity? Remember--He created both. His power and glory are reflected everywhere.

He made butterflies--not necessary, wasps could do the job of pollinating but so beautiful. Every tree, every leaf is so intricate, every detail so perfectly formed--why bother? He could have just designed a few big umbrella plants and called it a day.

Then, there are the good parts of our lives--friends and work and loved ones. In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had work to do...they just counted it all joy.

A God who makes waterfalls and jasmine and gravity knew what He was doing when He made Heaven. I, for one, can't wait to get there (while still being so grateful for all the gifts I've been given in this broken world).

John 14:2 "My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?"

Don't worry--He's got this.

He Is Risen!

He Is Risen Indeed.
