Dear Readers,
I mentioned in my last blog that my stepmother passed away. She was in my life for almost three decades. One of her love languages was cooking (something we had in common). Here, she's pictured with my husband--she made him his favorite pound cake for Christmas--wrapped it and everything.
I hope you have a wonderful day. Please hug someone you love--love's never wasted!
Sara's Pound Cake
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 box (16 ounces) 10X sugar (confectioner's sugar)
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar.
Add 6 eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour.
Add vanilla.
Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Super easy!
P.S. I didn't say it was healthy. :)

I’m so sorry about your stepmother’s passing, but what a wonderful legacy she left you! Pound cake is a favorite of mine, and I plan to try her recipe as I don’t have one with powered sugar. It sounds delicious. Thank you for sharing.
Dear Christine,
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family in the passing of your stepmother. She shared her love in so many ways and uniquely with her "love language" of cooking. What a wonderful way to express that love. God be with you.
That pound cake sure looks good
