Food brings memories. Doesn't it? My stepmother first made this cake for us decades ago (I don't have the date recorded since she made it, not me). My husband loved it! So, since then, whenever she has the chance, Sara makes it for him--even gave it to him as a Christmas gift last year. She did so even though her health is poor and requires dialysis several times a week. Try it and see if your family starts a new tradition!
Sara's Pound Cake
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)
1 box (16 oz.) 10x or Confectioner's sugar
6 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar with mixer. Add 6 eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour (1/2 cup at a time, 5 times). Add vanilla. Mix to combine completely.
2. Pour into greased and floured (or
sprayed) 10-inch Bundt or tube pan.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
4. Cool. Place serving plate on top and
flip. Enjoy!

PS. Yes, I took that picture--
it's my backyard! :)
You actually asked for food memories... and we all got stuck with flour on our face!
Our family favorite is lasagna. My mom always made it differently with cream cheese instead of ricotta. YUM! I've changed it to cottage cheese to make it healthier. (Is Christina Sinisi my friend?) Still, incredibly good. When my kids were teens, my daughter's Italian boyfriend told me it was better than his Italian grandmother's lasagna! Wow!
It looks fabulous. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
I think it’s 2-1/2 cups FLOUR (instead of sugar).
Your backyard is like a romance hero — swoon worthy!!! 🩷
I think you left out a few ingredients ~ it's impossible to make a pound cake without flour (salt and soda if you're using plain flour, which most pound cake recipes do).
