Dear Readers, good morning (or at least it's morning now where I am!). Terri sent this to me early, but when you read this...spring will have sprung and I'll be looking forward to summer vacation. Right now, it seems so far away (in February)!
I hope all of you are well. Thank you, Terri, for being a guest!
Introduce yourself—name, where you’re from, and something people notice when they meet you.

I am Terri Wangard and I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. After several years in Michigan, Utah, and California, I am back in Wisconsin.
When people meet me for the first time they notice my height, and some are rude enough to ask how tall I am. Or they notice I let others do all the talking.
Tell us about your book—title and back cover blurb.
Listen For the Chickadees
She’s loved him forever. He’s never seen her as more than a memory from home. Then Pearl Harbor changes everything.

December 7, 1941 shatters the illusion that anyone is safe. Navy nurse Gloria Bloch wakes to the thunder of enemy planes over Pearl Harbor, certain of only one thing: John Walsh, the boy she has loved since childhood, is far from danger aboard an aircraft carrier. Or so she believes. When panicked American gunfire brings John down over the harbor, their reunion is brief and breathtaking, forged in chaos neither can escape. As the Second World War drives the United States into the Pacific conflict, Gloria and John are swept onto separate paths of duty. Gloria serves aboard the hospital ship USS Serenity, tending shattered bodies and wounded souls. John flies combat missions as a Navy fighter pilot and combat photographer, risking everything to document a war that refuses to leave him untouched. Their paths cross again and again in fleeting moments between air raids and surgeries, courage and fear, longing and loss. With every meeting, the feelings they have buried deepen. But war demands more than love. It demands sacrifice, tests faith, and steals time without warning. When separation stretches into silence, Gloria must face the terrifying possibility that hope itself has become another casualty of war.
Share one thing that you found difficult or challenging about writing this book.
I would never have chosen nursing as a career. Writing authentic medical scenes was a challenge. I used terms I heard on TV shows like Emergency or M.A.S.H. I studied pictures of WWII hospital ships. I definitely had medical professionals beta read the book.
Do you have any questions for my blog readers?
Have you ever been to Hawaii? What would you like to see if you could take a trip there?
I visited twice many years ago, before I knew I would write a book set in Pearl Harbor. I would love to go back and see the places in my story, especially Ford Island. And I would tour the USS Missouri and visit museums.
Quirky question:
What’s your strangest sporting activity?
My brother and I ride bikes in winter. We have conditions: the temp has to be at least 40˚ and the roads clear of snow. We often have to plow through snow-covered pathways, which can be hazardous. But I love to get outside for a breath of fresh air.

Sounds like a very good read. I don’t do sports.
I too am a Wisconsin girl and it has to be pretty cold for me not to be out and about, although as I get older I'm more cautious about ice and falling.
I haven't been to Hawaii. I am my church's librarian and I have a couple people who are big fans of WW2 fiction who would enjoy this book.
My favorite quirky sport is something I saw when I attended college in New England...sledding downhill using a cafeteria tray! My Dad was a decorated veteran of WWII, and I am always drawn to stories of this era. And by the way - I am 5'9" - most of my height being my long legs -- and the funniest thing was being asked to dance once while I was sitting at the bar and the guy jumping back when I stood up and saying, "I didn't know you were THAT tall!"
This sounds like an interesting book.
Thank You for introducing me to a new author & books. The book sounds like a good & interesting read.
My quirky sport I do is watching people wear shorts all year round doing all kinds of strange things especially in the winter.
I REALLY HOPE I WIN THIS BOOK
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 💐
